Rec Basketball Assessments

The Rec Basketball League will be holding Assessments for everyone who will be playing in the Minors (3rd / 4th graders) and Juniors (5th / 6th graders) divisions on Monday, 11/24 and Tuesday, 11/25, at Lenape Meadows Elementary School.  Everyone is expected to attend these Assessments.  If you do not attend, you cannot be selected in the draft and will be randomly assigned to a team.  Please attend the assessment so that we can distribute the talent as equally as possible and make all the teams as even as possible.

7/8 grade players do not need to attend assessments. 

Please wear gym attire including sneakers.
Please do not bring basketballs with you. 

Coaches Mandatory Background Checks 

Anyone who plans on coaching a Mahwah Youth Sports team in the Winter or Spring, must first successfully pass a background check that the TMYSB has coordinated.  We will be doing these checks during the Basketball Assessments at the time and dates specified above.  If you do want to coach a team and cannot make either of these dates, please contact Bill Kessler, Basketball Commissioner at lawkessler@optonline.net.

Instructional Basketball (K - 2nd Grade)

Instructional Basketball will not begin until January 5th.  If you have a son / daughter in Kindergarten - 2nd Grade, you will probably not be contacted by a coach until the last week of December  / first few days of January.  Please check back on this website in the future for further updates.
